Code & Ordinances:
  • Zoning implemented in 1992
  • Zoning Policy is available in Town Clerk's Office for review or it may be purchased at a cost of $6.00
  • Permits are needed for the following projects:
    • Any new building or construction
    • Any alterations
    • Remodeling
    • Trailers
    • Demolition
  • Solicitors PLEASE SIGN IN at the Town Clerk's Office, 1 Park Ave. Present current form of ID.



*** Important Notice from the Code Enforcement Officer ***

To all contractors & homeowners regarding 2007 Building and Renovation Requirements (there will be NO EXCEPTIONS)

Please remember that calling for your required inspection is your responsibility.

There MUST be calls for inspection of each of the following points of construction:
  • Foundation
  • Rough Framing
  • Rough Electric
  • Rough Plumbing
  • Insulation
  • Final Electric
  • Final Approval (for Certificate of Occupancy)
As of January 1st, 2007:

No exceptions will be made, regardless of previous projects of reputation. Should any point of inspection not have been visually seen and approved, you will be required to do so at your expense and time before a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued.

Failure to comply will result in the property being considered in violation.

NO EXCUSE WILL BE ACCEPTED
